Don’t miss the South Island’s premier fly-fishing social event! Hook up with your old fishing mates and make some new ones. A great casting and fly-tying programme lined up. This year’s headliner is Hans Weilenmann, EFFA (European) and FFF Master Casting Instructor and creator of the killer CDC&Elk. Hans will presenting fly tying and casting demos and generally smoozing with the gang all weekend.
All the food you can eat provided by the Taieri Lions Club – Friday beer soaker toasties, Saturday morning coffee and country baking, Saturday lunch sausage sizzle/beef sandwich. Big Saturday evening spit roast BBQ and campfire social. Sunday fried breakfast. Coffee and tea all weekend. ALL INCLUDED for the $50 weekend ticket price. (Day tickets available too). The coffee pot will be on all weekend. Cheap beer and liquor in The Stables private bar (no BYO inside, please).
Raffle and prize draws for some great tackle (rods, reels, lines, books, etc). Show-off casting and shootouts, beer and bullshit, and the usual fly-fishing hi-jinx.
Carl McNeil (FFFMCI, Once In A Blue Moon), Peter Morse (FFFMCI The Fly Fishing DVD), Rene Vaz, Chris Dore, Clark Reid, Bob Wyatt and others will be holding fly tying and casting workshops and demos, and providing lots of free expert advice and hot tips.

It’s summer, and presentation is the name of the game. Chris will show us how to even the odds with those spooky trout.

Master fly tier and country rocker Clark will demo some of his hot ties and probably give us a few Steve Earl numbers while he spins the deer hair. He takes requests.

9:30 Technical/Tactical Better knot systems and terminal rigs / Peter Morse Over our morning coffee, Morsie (Mr 100%) shows us how to make sure our rigs don’t let us down by using better knot and leader systems. Remember, if you need 100%, you need it bad.
10:30 Fly Tying (Hans Weilenmann)
11:30 Group event Casting Jam (Morsie/Hans/Rene/Carl/Clark/Bob/Chris/Tina,//Dan/Christian) Free for all. Join is and polish that casting. Long range, short range, presentation stuff, the works. Watch and learn, then try it for yourself. No time to be shy, it’s fishing season!. Step up to the plate and fire away.
